New Please.. When Working on Reported Posts..

Please for the love of all if you are updating books that were reported, please, please, please!, post the link of the updated thread, as a reply, to the thread in the 'Reported Posts' thread so that we know which ones have been done and which ones have not been done.

    EX of Reply:

I have been working on a few of the reported threads and come to find out, my efforts were wasted when the reported book was already updated but did not show as such in the 'Reported Posts' section.

Replying to the 'Reported Post' with the updated thread allows for all to know that we do not need to worry about it anymore and it shows the mods/ admins which one's they can take off the reported posts list so that it doesn't keep piling on more pages.

    Love your idea.
It's a pity that we can't all see the Reported Posts thread.

Just because we can't see it doesn't mean we can't help.
It actually takes more effort as we have to check if the link is dead and have no way of knowing if it's just a different format wanted.

Yup... certain ranks can only see the reason for the report. Exp and above I think. I'm not sure about Vip members, But regular members cannot see the report's message.

I had thought the mods went through and updated them when they check our 5 posts for the month are valid.

Mods do most of the time yes, but I believe people ranked Book Expert and above can also help clean it up, by replying to the thread, while the mod is the one to actually move the completed reports out of te list. [If that makes sense. o.o]

yep. makes sense. I'll keep doing what I do and leave the higher ranks to do their bit.

Has there been some change? I don't remember a time when I haven't had access to reported items... I haven't always been able to reply to reported posts, that's more recent.

In the header, under quick links, there's "reported items". You need to click the reporter's name to access the post and to see the reason (dead/ request for another format/...).

I have always wondered why so few users fill reported posts

Maybe it is as Chez_Oz has said, they cannot see it? But I cannot verify since I've always had access to it.

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been online.

I've never been able to see the reason for a post being reported. Sometimes I'll have time to ask a mod. Other times I try the link and update if it's dead. I can't update the reported thread. I'm just a lowly book lover looking for a way to help.

No worries, I completely understand. I usually just fill out the reported post if its already been updated.
